For "Louise Whatling": Perhaps I'm expressing a minority viewpoint but I very much enjoyed the sketches featuring the "Little Angels" who, often enough, behaved more like "Little Devils!" It was refreshing to see Benny "victimized" by somebody other than a bimbo or a battle-ax. So what if the kids weren't polished actors; Benny wanted it that way.

I enjoyed Benny up until about '85 when the comedy became laboured and the dance routines were no more than aerobics exercises. The Little Angels were excrutiatingly painful to watch. I imagine Benny must have cringed at times to see what his show became. Best years were from about '76 to '84. The show copped a lot of of flak from various quarters but in the main it was no more than a case of ugly fat arsed feminists resenting good looking girls unashamedly strutting their stuff. I recall that boring tosser Ben Elton having a go at the show. Well I know who I and millions of others would prefer to watch. Favourite Angel was Louise English. Favourite dance scene was Runaway. I am presently enjoying reruns of the show on UKTV.

Marian Davies worked with Benny Hill for 20 years as a Ladybird. These days she offers presentations through the SpeakersAgency. One of her talks is entitled: "Benny Hill - the man behind the clown." Perhaps, NewVideo/A&E would be willing to hire Marian to participate in a Bonus Feature for the final Set 6 of the "Complete & Unadulterated" Benny Hill series of DVDs. (Ex-Hill players Bettine le Beau and Johnny Hutch also give talks for the SpeakersAgency and should be considered as possible Bonus Feature participants.)

Lorraine Doyle was only in a hand full of Hot Gossip numbers inc Shaft & Contact. I think Ann

There is an unknown Angel on the 'Who are Hill's Angels', Is she an X Hot Gossip Dancer, I'm thinking she may be Viginia Hartley?

To 'mel': That "short illness" could've been the culmination of years of lingering resentment at Thames over their dropping of Mr. Hill - and Mr. Kirkland had never forgiven the company for that, and remained bitter about it the rest of his life. To 'mel': One factor in difference is who's distributing them. The "Golden Greats" and "Golden Classics" DVD's were distributed by HBO Home Video. However, they've been taken out of print, because of A&E Video's "Complete & Unadulterated" issues of Mr. Hill's complete Thames TV shows. And the "Golden Classics" set consisted of compilation edits from different shows, rather than complete episodes as was the case with "Golden Greats." (I myself never got either DVD compilation, because of the A&E sets.)
